Car
If you are driving, you can reach Cánh đồng chum (Plain of Jars Site 1) by following Route 7 from Phonsavan, the capital of Xiangkhoang Province. Start in Phonsavan and head east on Route 7, which is well-marked. After approximately 15 kilometers, you will see signs directing you to the Plain of Jars. Turn off the main road when you see the signs, and continue for a further 5 kilometers until you arrive at the site. There is parking available near the entrance.

Public Transportation
To reach Cánh đồng chum via public transportation, take a local bus from Phonsavan. Buses leave regularly from the main bus station in Phonsavan and head towards the Plain of Jars. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes, and the fare is usually around 20,000 LAK (Lao Kip). Inform the driver of your destination when you board so they can drop you off at the nearest point to the site. Once you arrive, it's a short walk to the entrance of the site.

Bicycle Rental
For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bicycle in Phonsavan. Several shops offer rentals for around 30,000-50,000 LAK per day. From Phonsavan, follow Route 7 east for about 15 kilometers, then take the signs that lead to the Plain of Jars. This route is scenic, but be prepared for some uphill stretches. The ride will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your cycling speed.
