Once in Līgatne, walk about 3 kilometers to reach the river. Follow the signs towards the river or use a map application for precise walking directions. A single bus fare from Cēsis to Līgatne typically costs around €1-€3.
Car
If driving from the center of Gauja National Park, head southeast on the A2 road towards Cēsis. Continue on A2 for about 10 kilometers until the junction with the P5 road. Take the exit onto P5 towards Līgatne. After approximately 15 kilometers, signs will indicate the Brasla River. Turn left onto a smaller road leading directly to the river. Parking is available near the riverbank. Parking is generally free. However, be aware that during peak season, parking spots may be limited.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, rent a bike in Cēsis. Head southeast on the A2 road towards Cēsis, then take the P5 road towards Līgatne. The total distance is about 25 kilometers. Designated bike paths are available along parts of the route. Once you reach Līgatne, follow the walking directions to Brasla River as mentioned above. Bike rentals in Cēsis typically range from €5-€15 per day.
