Brasla River: A Latvian Natural Gem

The Brasla River, a right tributary of the Gauja, stretches approximately 70 km through the scenic landscapes of Latvia. Originating near Limbaži, the river initially meanders through low, marshy meadows before reaching Straupe, where the landscape transforms into a deeper lowland. Here, the first signs of rusty sandstone outcrops appear, eventually forming the impressive cliffs that characterize the geological and geomorphological natural monument known as "Brasla rocks".
