From Valmiera city center, the Gauja River Steep Banks can be reached by walking southwest on Rīgas iela (A3). Turn right onto Gaujas iela after approximately 2 kilometers. Continue for about 1 kilometer until you reach the parking area near the steep banks. From there, a clear pathway leads to the scenic views.

Public Transport

To reach the Gauja River Steep Banks via public transport, take a bus from Valmiera Bus Station (located in the city center). Buses to 'Cēsis' or 'Sigulda' frequently stop near the Gauja National Park. Get off at the 'Parka iela' stop, which is about a 15-minute walk from the steep banks. Follow the signs towards the river. The bus fare is approximately €1.50.
