Mseilha Walkway: A Coastal Hiking Escape

The Mseilha Walkway, also known as Darb Mseilha, presents a delightful hiking experience in the Batroun region of Lebanon. This well-maintained, approximately 3-kilometer-long trail provides hikers of all levels with panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, lush greenery, and the striking Lebanese mountains. The walkway's route passes by the historic Mseilha Fort, constructed in the 17th century by Emir Fakhreddine II to guard the route between Tripoli and Beirut. The fort's presence adds a historical dimension to the hike, inviting visitors to explore its architecture and learn about its strategic importance. The trail is also referred to as the Nahr El-Jaouz (Walnut River) trail because it is located near the river, which has been listed as a National and Historic Heritage Site since 1998.
