Getting There

• Car

  From any location in Keserwan District, head south on the main highway (known as the Coastal Road or the Beirut-Jounieh Highway). Continue driving until you see signs for Jeita Grotto, which is located in the Valley of the Dog River, just north of Beirut. Look for exit signs that direct you to the Jeita Grotto area. Once you exit, follow the local roads which will lead you directly to the Grotto's entrance. There is a parking area available, and parking fees may apply.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  Find a local bus station in Keserwan District that operates routes towards Beirut. Look for buses heading to 'Jounieh' or 'Beirut' as they often pass through the area near Jeita Grotto. Once you arrive in Jounieh or Beirut, transfer to a minibus or shared taxi that specifically goes to Jeita Grotto. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are heading to Jeita Grotto before boarding. The fare for the bus and minibus or taxi should be minimal, generally costing around 2,000-5,000 LBP (Lebanese Pounds) for each leg.

• Taxi

  You can also opt for a taxi, which is a more direct but pricier option. Simply hail a taxi or use a ride-hailing app if available. Provide the driver with the destination: 'Jeita Grotto, Valley of the Dog River, Keserwan'. The journey should take around 30-45 minutes depending on traffic and will cost approximately 15,000-30,000 LBP.

• Combination (Car & Walking)

  If you drive to Jeita Grotto and park in the designated parking area, you will need to purchase tickets to enter the site. The entry fee is approximately 18,000 LBP for adults and 9,000 LBP for children. After entering, you will need to walk a short distance to the entrance of the Grotto itself. Be prepared for some steps and uneven terrain, so wear comfortable shoes.
