Sidon Municipal Park: A Coastal Oasis

Sidon Municipal Park, also known as Saida Municipal Park, is a cherished public space located at the northern entrance of Sidon, Lebanon. Situated next to the President Rafic Hariri Sports City and near the mouth of the Awali River, the park boasts a stunning coastal setting, providing visitors with panoramic views and a tranquil atmosphere. The park features plenty of trees offering shaded areas, picnic tables, and benches for relaxation. Expansive play areas provide safe spaces for children to play, while adults can take advantage of the free exercise equipment. The park also includes a kiosk offering affordable snacks and refreshments, and clean restrooms. Many activities are held in the park, such as national celebrations, festivals, and cultural performances. It's also a suitable place for sports activities like jogging, walking, and cycling. Once a garbage mound resulting from the Lebanese Civil War, the park is now a symbol of renewal and environmental consciousness. The transformation from a 58-meter trash mountain to a green space is a source of pride for the city.
