Aïshti Foundation: Beirut's Contemporary Art Hub

The Aïshti Foundation, founded in 2015 by Tony Salamé, is dedicated to contemporary culture, bridging art, design, architecture, and performance. Located in Antelias, north of Beirut, the foundation is housed within a 35,000 square-meter complex that includes fashion boutiques, a curated bookshop, restaurants, cafes, a spa, and a rooftop bar offering striking views of Beirut and the Mediterranean Sea. The museum's collection encompasses over 2,000 works by more than 300 artists, with a focus on international art and contributions from the Middle East. The collection features works from Lucio Fontana, Alberto Burri, Sol LeWitt, John Baldessari, and Cindy Sherman. The Aïshti Foundation aims to foster public education and global cultural exchange through its exhibitions and programs. The building itself, designed by British architect David Adjaye, is an architectural marvel. Its distinctive red facade, constructed with an aluminum tubular structure, draws inspiration from traditional Arabic woodwork and the ocean's waves. The facade creates a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, offering visitors glimpses of the coastal landscape and the bustling city. The Aïshti Foundation is more than just a museum; it's a cultural destination that blends art, architecture, and commerce.
