Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the Leribe Central Market, which is a known landmark in the heart of Leribe. From the market, head east on Main Street towards the intersection with Makoanyane Road. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the R572 road. Turn left onto R572 and follow the road out of the town. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will notice signs directing you towards the Leribe Plateau. Keep an eye out for local paths leading upwards; these paths will take you closer to the plateau area.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Leribe Central Market and cycle east along Main Street. When you reach the Makoanyane Road, turn left and continue straight until you intersect with the R572 road. Take a left onto R572 and bike approximately 1.5 kilometers. Look for signs or local paths that indicate the way to the Leribe Plateau. The ride will be enjoyable as you will experience the local scenery and engage with nature on your way up.

• Public Transport (Taxi)

  From Leribe Central Market, find a local taxi that is heading towards the R572 road. Inform the driver that you want to go towards Leribe Plateau. Once you reach the intersection of R572, ask the driver to drop you off. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 kilometer along the R572, keeping an eye out for paths leading to the plateau. Local guides are often available along the route, so feel free to ask for assistance.

• Hiking

  For the adventurous, start your hike from the Leribe Central Market. Take Main Street heading east until you hit Makoanyane Road, then turn left. Follow this road until you reach the R572. Once there, follow the signs indicating the trails to Leribe Plateau. This hike will take you through beautiful landscapes, but ensure you are prepared with water and proper footwear, as some parts may be steep or rugged.
