Walking
Start your journey from the center of Thaba-Tseka, near the main market. Head southeast on Main Street (Mokhotlong Road) for about 1 kilometer until you reach a fork. Take the left path at the fork, which leads you towards the foothills. Continue walking for another 2 kilometers until you reach the base of the Mafika Lisiu Pass. At this point, you will see a sign indicating the start of the hiking trail to the viewpoint. The trail is well-marked, but be prepared for a steep ascent. Follow the trail for approximately 3 kilometers, which should take about an hour. As you climb, enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding valleys. Once you reach the top, you will find the Mafika Lisiu Pass View Point, where you can rest and take in the panoramic scenery.

If you are feeling adventurous and prefer a more challenging route, consider taking the scenic hiking trail from Thaba-Tseka to Mafika Lisiu Pass. Begin at the local tourist information center, which is located near the town square. From there, head north towards the mountains, following the well-trodden path. This route will lead you through beautiful landscapes and local villages. After about 5 kilometers, you'll reach a junction; take the right path, which will guide you up the slopes of Mafika Lisiu Pass. This section is steep and requires a good level of fitness. Expect to spend about 2.5 to 3 hours on this hike. Once you arrive at the viewpoint, enjoy the breathtaking vistas of the highlands.
