Walking
From the center of Thaba-Tseka, head south towards the main road (Mokhotlong Road). Keep walking until you reach the junction. At the junction, take a left turn onto the road heading towards the Lebingwanas Cattle Post. Continue walking along this road for about 4 kilometers. You will pass several local farms and small settlements. Keep an eye out for the sign indicating the entrance to the Mponjwane Cave area. Once you see the sign, follow the path leading to the cave, which should be clearly marked. The cave is located near the coordinates 425H+WG, Lebingwanas Cattle Post, which will take you off the main road into a more rural area.
Hiring a Local Guide
For a more enriching experience, consider hiring a local guide in Thaba-Tseka. You can ask at your accommodation or local tourist information centers for recommendations. A guide can meet you in Thaba-Tseka and escort you to Mponjwane Cave. They will often take you through scenic routes and provide insights into the local culture and history along the way. Bicycle Rental
If you prefer a quicker route, rent a bicycle from a local shop in Thaba-Tseka. Start from the center and head towards Mokhotlong Road. Follow the same route as if you were walking, but you will be able to cover the 4 kilometers to the junction much faster. Once you reach the junction, turn left towards Lebingwanas Cattle Post. Biking will allow you to enjoy the surrounding landscapes. After about 4 kilometers, look for the entrance to Mponjwane Cave, where you can secure your bike and proceed on foot to explore the cave.
