Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Gbarnga, the capital of Bong County. Head south on the main road towards Lawe. After approximately 45 minutes, you will reach a fork; take the left road towards Lawe. Follow the signs to Kpatawee Waterfall. The last 10 kilometers to the waterfall will be on a dirt road, so be prepared for bumpy conditions. Parking is available near the waterfall entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Kpatawee Waterfall by public transport, find a shared taxi or bus heading towards Lawe from Gbarnga. The fare is typically around 50-100 Liberian dollars. Once you arrive in Lawe, you may need to hire a motorbike taxi (poda poda) for the final stretch to the waterfall. Negotiate the fare, which should be around 200-300 Liberian dollars. The motorcycle ride will take about 15 minutes.
Hiking
For adventurous travelers, after arriving at the parking area or the drop-off point from the motorbike taxi, you can hike to Kpatawee Waterfall. Follow the marked trails through the forest; the hike is about 1 kilometer and takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
