    Getting There

    Car

If you are traveling by car, begin your journey in the capital city of Monrovia. Head east on the Robertsfield Highway (also known as Route 1), which is the main road out of the city. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for the town of Kakata. Take a right turn onto the road toward Kakata and follow the signs. After about 15 kilometers, you will reach Kakata. From Kakata, take the road toward the town of Buchanan. After about 20 kilometers, you will see signs for Libassa Ecolodge on your left. Follow the signs to the lodge. Ensure you have cash for the entry fee of $10 USD, as you are not allowed to bring food or beverages from outside.

    Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, start by heading to a major bus station in Monrovia, such as the Red Light Bus Terminal. Look for a shared taxi or minibus heading to Kakata. The fare should be around 50-100 Liberian Dollars. Once you arrive in Kakata, you will need to find a taxi or motorbike taxi (also known as 'boda-boda') that can take you to Libassa Ecolodge. Negotiate the fare beforehand; it should be around 200-300 Liberian Dollars. The driver will likely know the way, as Libassa Ecolodge is a well-known destination. Remember to bring cash for the entry fee of $10 USD upon arrival.

    Combination (Car and Public Transportation)

If you are in a smaller town or village in Central Region, you can take a local taxi to Kakata and then follow the public transportation steps mentioned above. Make sure to confirm the fare to Kakata with the driver before you start your journey. Once in Kakata, switch to a taxi or motorbike taxi to reach Libassa Ecolodge.
