Car
From Monrovia, drive towards Ganta, then continue to Sanniquellie. From Sanniquellie, follow local signs to Nimba National Forest. Be prepared for potentially bumpy or unpaved road conditions near the forest. Note that the journey from Monrovia to Nimba County is approximately 4-5 hours.
Public Transport
Take a shared taxi or motorbike taxi from Sanniquellie to Ganta. From Ganta, find transport heading towards Nimba National Forest. Communicate your destination clearly to the driver. Fares from Sanniquellie to Ganta are around 50 Liberian dollars (LRD), with an additional 100 LRD for the leg to the forest. Be prepared to negotiate fares.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Nimba National Forest, walking from a nearby town like Tappita is possible. It is approximately 10 km from Tappita to the forest entrance, taking around 2-3 hours. It is highly recommended to have a local guide. Ensure you have sufficient water and appropriate footwear.
