Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Vaduz, take Bus 21 towards Malbun. Get off at the Malbun Jöraboda bus stop, which is the closest to the Sareis chairlift. From there, it's a short walk to the chairlift's valley station. Bus fares vary, check Liemobil for current pricing. The bus operates regularly, with increased frequency during peak seasons.

  • Walking

    From the center of Malbun, follow the signs towards the Bergbahnen Malbun (Malbun chairlifts). The walk to the Sareis chairlift valley station is approximately 15-20 minutes. Once at the valley station, purchase a ticket for the chairlift to ascend to Sareis. In the period from June 14 to July 31, 2025, the Malbun mountain railroads will offer a replacement service with minibuses to get to Sareis. The ride is free for people with the ALL INCLUSIVE Adventure Pass.

  • Chairlift

    Take the Sareis chairlift from Malbun to the Sareis mountain station. A one-way ticket costs CHF 39. From the mountain station, the Fürstin-Gina-Weg trailhead is clearly marked. Note: The Sareis chairlift is out of service until July 31, 2025 due to a general overhaul.

The Fürstin-Gina-Weg, or Princess Gina Trail, is a celebrated hiking route in Malbun, Liechtenstein, named in honor of the much-loved Princess Gina of Liechtenstein. The trail presents hikers with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Alps, including the Falknis range and Schesaplana peak. The path leads to the Augstenberg peak at 2,359 meters, marked by a prominent summit cross. The route showcases the diverse alpine flora of Liechtenstein, a region dedicated to plant conservation. The trail offers a variety of terrains, from flower-filled meadows to rocky ridges, ensuring an engaging experience. Though some sections are challenging, with steep ascents and exposed areas secured by ropes, the overall experience is rewarding. Starting from the Sareis chairlift, the path winds its way to the Sareiserjoch, continuing towards the Augstenberg and then descending towards the Pfälzerhütte, a mountain hut offering overnight stays. From there, the trail loops back to Malbun through Alp Gritsch and Vaduzer Täli.
