Discover more about Red House, Vaduz

The Red House, or Rotes Haus in German, is a significant historical landmark in Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein. This iconic building, with its distinctive red facade, offers a glimpse into the country's architectural heritage. Constructed in 1338, the Red House is a stepped gabled house with an adjoining residential tower. The house's name comes from the dark red paint that has adorned its exterior since the mid-19th century. Over the centuries, the Red House has had several owners, including the St. Johann monastery. The Rheinberger family has owned the house since 1807. Between 1902 and 1905, a painter, sculptor, and architect extended the house. The residential tower has four stories and a pyramid roof.
