Public Transport
From major transport hubs like Zurich, reach Toggenburg by train to Wattwil, a central transportation hub in the region. From Wattwil, local bus routes connect to various villages within Toggenburg. For example, PostBus Route 25 (Wattwil-Ebnat-Kappel) serves several destinations. Single bus fares within the region typically cost CHF 3-6, depending on the distance and zones covered. Consider purchasing a day pass for unlimited travel within the Toggenburg region for approximately CHF 15-30. Keep in mind that public transport tickets are not always valid on mybuxi.
Driving
If driving from Zurich, take the A1 highway towards St. Gallen. Exit at Wil and follow the signs towards Toggenburg. The drive takes approximately 50 minutes, covering a distance of around 53 km. Be aware that some mountain roads may have tolls. Parking is available in most villages, with hourly rates ranging from CHF 1-3 and daily rates around CHF 5-10. Limited parking may be available during peak tourist seasons.

Since 2023, the municipalities of Nesslau and Wildhaus/Alt St. Johann have been serviced by Mybuxi, a regional on-demand transportation service. Download the Mybuxi app to book a ride between virtual Mybuxi stops. A single ride within one zone costs CHF 5.00, or CHF 6.00 for two zones. Note that public transportation tickets are not valid on Mybuxi.
