Heidiweg: A Journey into Heidi's World

The Heidiweg (Heidi Trail) in Maienfeld, Switzerland, offers a captivating journey into the world of Heidi, the cheerful, nature-loving orphan girl created by Johanna Spyri. As you leave the town, the path gently ascends through vineyards, showcasing the region's winemaking tradition. The trail is well-marked with red signposts, ensuring you stay on course. Along the Heidiweg, you'll encounter Heididorf (Heidi Village), a living museum that recreates the traditional Alpine way of life. Here, you can explore Heidi's house, a 300-year-old structure that brings the story to life. You can also visit Heidi's Alp Cottage, a replica of the hut where Heidi spent her summers with her grandfather. The Heidiweg continues to the Hotel Restaurant Heidihof, offering panoramic views of the Alps and the valley.
