Getting There

  • Walking

    From Trakai Island Castle, walk towards the bridge that connects the island to the mainland. Cross the bridge and continue straight along the main road, which will lead you to the town of Trakai. Once you reach the main road, take a left and follow the signs towards Vilnius. You'll see a bus stop where you can catch a bus to Vilnius. The walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.

    Once at the bus stop in Trakai, look for a bus heading to Vilnius. The buses are frequent, and the journey to Vilnius takes about 30-40 minutes. Make sure to have a valid ticket, which you can purchase from the kiosk at the bus station or on the bus itself (although it's often cheaper to buy in advance). Once you arrive in Vilnius, disembark at the 'Vilnius' main bus station.

  • Walking from Vilnius Bus Station

    From the Vilnius main bus station, exit and head towards the city center. Walk straight along Geležinkelio g. (Railway Street) and follow the signs towards the Old Town.
