Getting There

  • Car

    From Trakai Island Castle, head south on the main road (A4) towards Vilnius. Continue on A4 for approximately 25 km. Take the exit toward Vilnius city center and merge onto the Savanorių pr./A1. Follow the signs for the city center, and then turn left onto Aušros Vartų g. The Gate of Dawn will be on your right at Aušros Vartų g. 14. Parking may be available nearby, but check local signs for any fees.

    From Trakai Island Castle, walk to the Trakai bus station, which is about a 10-minute walk. Take a bus to Vilnius (buses are frequent, approximately every 30 minutes). The journey takes about 35-40 minutes. Once in Vilnius, get off at the 'Vilnius' bus station. From there, you can either walk (approximately 20 minutes) or take tram number 2 or 4 towards the city center. Get off at the 'Aušros Vartų' stop, and the Gate of Dawn will be a short walk away at Aušros Vartų g. 14.
