Getting There

• Walking

  From any point in Mid City, head towards Government Street and walk in the direction of downtown Baton Rouge. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with S 3rd Street. Turn left onto S 3rd Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Convention Street. Turn right onto Convention Street and continue walking until you reach the Mississippi River. You will see Riverfront Plaza & City Dock located at 300 S River Rd. The walk should take approximately 25-30 minutes depending on your starting point.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, you can take the bike lanes along Government Street towards downtown. Once you reach S 3rd Street, turn left and then right onto Convention Street. Follow Convention Street until it leads you directly to the Mississippi River. You will find Riverfront Plaza & City Dock at 300 S River Rd. This option will take about 15-20 minutes and is a great way to enjoy the scenery.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  If you prefer to use public transport, you can catch the Capital Area Transit System (CATS) bus. Look for routes that head towards downtown Baton Rouge. A good option is to take the bus from the nearest stop in Mid City to the downtown area. The bus fare is typically around $1.50. Get off at the stop closest to the Mississippi River and walk towards Riverfront Plaza & City Dock at 300 S River Rd. The total travel time will vary based on bus schedules but expect about 30-45 minutes including waiting times.
