Getting There

• Car

  From Caddo Lake, head southwest on LA-1 S towards Karnack, Texas. Continue for about 10 miles until you reach the intersection with TX-43. Turn left onto TX-43 and continue for approximately 3 miles. Turn right onto Zeugner Dr. The Caddo Lake National Wildlife Refuge will be on your left.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will need to take a bus from Caddo Lake to the nearest major town, which is Karnack, TX. Check local schedules for bus timings. Upon reaching Karnack, you can hire a taxi or rideshare service to take you directly to Zeugner Dr, Karnack, TX 75661, which is the address for Caddo Lake National Wildlife Refuge.

• Biking

  For those who prefer biking, you can bike from Caddo Lake to Caddo Lake National Wildlife Refuge. Follow LA-1 S for about 10 miles, then take TX-43 for approximately 3 miles. Finally, turn right onto Zeugner Dr. Be sure to wear a helmet and have reflective gear, as some parts of these roads may not have dedicated bike lanes.

• Walking

  Walking to Caddo Lake National Wildlife Refuge from the more central areas of Caddo Lake is not recommended due to the distance (approximately 13 miles). However, if you choose to walk, you can take LA-1 S towards Karnack, then TX-43, and finally turn onto Zeugner Dr. Make sure to bring plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes.
