Public Transportation
From the French Quarter, walk to the nearest RTA streetcar stop on Chartres Street and take the Riverfront Streetcar towards the Convention Center. Get off at the Canal Street stop. At Canal Street, transfer to the #51 bus (Chef Menteur Highway) at the bus stop on the corner. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes, until you reach the stop at Chef Menteur Highway and Fort Pike. From there, it is a short walk to the entrance of Fort Pike.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing programs in the French Quarter. Start by heading east on St. Ann Street towards North Rampart Street, then take a left onto North Rampart. Continue until you reach Elysian Fields Avenue. Turn right on Elysian Fields and follow the road to the Chef Menteur Highway. From there, head east on Chef Menteur for about 6 miles, and you will arrive at Fort Pike. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules.

For those who enjoy a long walk, start from the French Quarter and head east on Esplanade Avenue. Continue on Esplanade until it intersects with North Claiborne Avenue. Turn right on North Claiborne and follow it north until it turns into Chef Menteur Highway. Keep walking straight for approximately 5 miles along Chef Menteur Highway until you reach Fort Pike. This route takes you through some local neighborhoods, so be sure to stay aware of your surroundings.
