    From downtown New Orleans, take the #39 bus (Algiers) from the Canal and St. Charles stop toward the St. Bernard/Canal stop. Transfer to the #88 bus (Chef Menteur) at St. Bernard and Chef Menteur. Stay on the #88 bus for about 30 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to 17160 Chef Menteur Hwy. Walk approximately 5 minutes to the refuge entrance.
