Car
If you're driving from anywhere in Northshore, start by getting onto I-10 W. Follow signs for New Orleans and merge onto the interstate. Stay on I-10 W for about 30 miles. Take exit 234B for US-90 Business N toward New Orleans. Continue onto Claiborne Ave. After approximately 2 miles, turn left onto St. Charles Ave. In about 1 mile, turn right onto Common St, then left onto Chartres St. Continue straight until you reach Jackson Square, located at 701 Chartres St, New Orleans, LA 70116. There is limited street parking available, so be prepared to look for nearby parking lots or garages which may charge around $15-$30 for the day.
Public Transportation (Bus)
If you prefer public transportation, take the Northshore Transit bus (Route 90) from any location in Northshore to the Slidell Transit Center. From there, transfer to the Jefferson Transit bus (Route 88) heading to New Orleans. This bus will take you directly to the French Quarter area. You will need to pay a fare of approximately $2.00 for the bus. Once you arrive in the French Quarter, it's a short 5-minute walk to Jackson Square. Just follow Chartres St until you reach the square.
Public Transportation (Train)
You can also take the Amtrak train from the Northshore area to New Orleans. Once you arrive at the Amtrak station in New Orleans, you can either walk or take a local streetcar to reach Jackson Square. To walk, head east on Loyola Ave for about 0.5 miles, then turn left on Canal St and continue until you reach Chartres St. Jackson Square will be on your left. If you choose to take the streetcar, board the Canal Streetcar line at the Canal St. stop and ride until you reach the stop near Jackson Square. The train fare will vary, but expect to pay around $20-$30.
