Public Bus
From Slidell, walk to the nearest bus stop on Gause Boulevard. Take the '504' bus towards New Orleans. The ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Get off at the stop near Canal Street. From Canal Street, transfer to the '55' bus that goes directly to the French Quarter. After about 10 minutes, get off at the stop on Decatur Street. You will be in the heart of the French Quarter.
Taxi or Rideshare
You can hail a taxi or use a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft from anywhere in Slidell. Simply input 'French Quarter, New Orleans' as your destination. The trip will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are heading to the French Quarter.
Train
Take the Amtrak train from the Slidell station to the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. Once you arrive, you can either walk (about 15 minutes) or take a local bus to the French Quarter. To walk, head south on Loyola Avenue, then turn left onto Canal Street, and continue until you reach the French Quarter.
