Getting There

• Bus

  From downtown Slidell, walk to the nearest bus stop served by the St. Tammany Parish Transit (STPT) system. You can catch the 40 or 41 bus heading towards New Orleans. Be sure to check the bus schedule for the exact departure times. Once on the bus, stay on until you reach Canal Street in New Orleans. From Canal Street, transfer to the 5 bus towards Treme. Upon arriving at the Treme stop, you will be close to Basin Street. Walk approximately 5 minutes west on Basin Street, and you will find Kermit Ruffin's Speakeasy at 1535 Basin St.

• Train

  Head to the Slidell Amtrak station located at 100 Front St. Purchase a ticket for the Crescent line heading towards New Orleans. The train ride takes about an hour. Once you arrive at the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal, exit the station and walk to the nearby Canal Street. From there, catch the 5 bus towards Treme. When you reach the Treme stop, walk about 5 minutes west on Basin Street to find Kermit Ruffin's Speakeasy at 1535 Basin St.
