History of Upper Sûre Natural Park

The Sûre Valley Before the Reservoir

Long before the modern lake was created, the Sûre carved a winding valley through the Ardennes uplands. Settlement and farming developed around the river, with villages, mills and managed woodland forming a closely connected rural landscape.
