If you are starting from the city center, head towards Avenue de l'Indépendance. Walk along this main avenue until you reach the intersection with Rue de l'Université. Turn left onto Rue de l'Université and continue walking until you reach the top of the hill. At the top, you will see the Porte ancienne de la haute ville on your right, marked by its historic architecture.

If you are at the Rova of Antananarivo (the Queen's Palace), exit the grounds and head downhill towards Avenue de l'Indépendance.
