If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Taolagnaro (Fort Dauphin). Head southeast on Avenue de l'Indépendance towards Rue de la Liberté. Continue on this road for about 5 kilometers until you reach a junction. At the junction, turn left onto Route Nationale 13 (RN13). Follow RN13 for approximately 15 kilometers. You will see signs for Ankoba Beach. Turn left when you see the signs, and follow the dirt road for about 2 kilometers, which will lead you directly to Ankoba Beach. Ensure that your vehicle is suitable for unpaved roads, as some sections may be rough.
Public Transportation
To reach Ankoba Beach via public transportation, first make your way to the main taxi-brousse station in Taolagnaro. Look for a taxi-brousse heading towards Ankoba or nearby coastal areas. The fare should be around 5,000 MGA (Malagasy Ariary). The journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on road conditions. Once you arrive at the nearest drop-off point, you may need to hire a local guide or take a moto-taxi for the final stretch to Ankoba Beach, which may cost around 10,000 MGA.
