Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the nearest major town, Toliara. Head north on Route Nationale 7 (RN7) until you reach the intersection with Route Nationale 10 (RN10). Turn right and follow RN10 towards St Augustin. Continue along this route for approximately 30 kilometers until you see signs for Sarodrano cave. The cave is located at coordinates FQM3+874, St Augustin. Make sure to have a GPS device or a map app handy as this will help you navigate the last few kilometers to your destination.
Public Transportation
To reach Sarodrano cave via public transportation, take a taxi-brousse (shared taxi) from Toliara to St Augustin. The journey typically takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in St Augustin, you will need to negotiate with a local taxi or take a motorbike taxi (also known as 'pousse-pousse') to reach Sarodrano cave, which is about 5 kilometers from the town center. Ensure you communicate the destination clearly and agree on the fare beforehand, which should be around 5,000 to 10,000 Ariary.
