Car
From Betsiboka, start by heading south on Route Nationale 4 (RN4) towards Antananarivo. Continue for approximately 80 kilometers until you reach the town of Mahajanga. From Mahajanga, take Route Nationale 2 (RN2) heading east towards Morondava. After about 70 kilometers, you will come to a junction where you need to follow signs for Route Nationale 35 (RN35) heading towards Masoala National Park. This road is a bit rough, and you may need a 4x4 vehicle to navigate it safely. Ensure you have enough fuel as there are limited services along the way. The total driving time is estimated at around 5-6 hours depending on road conditions.

Public Transportation
To reach Masoala National Park via public transportation, start in Betsiboka and find a local taxi-brousse (shared minibus) heading towards Mahajanga. The fare is typically around 10,000 Ariary. After reaching Mahajanga, transfer to another taxi-brousse that goes toward Morondava. Again, the fare will be similar, around 10,000 Ariary. Once in Morondava, you need to take another taxi-brousse to the town nearest to Masoala, which is approximately 30 kilometers away. Be prepared for a longer journey as this could take upwards of 10-12 hours of travel time due to waiting for connections.

Once you arrive at the nearest town to Masoala National Park, you will need to arrange for a boat transfer to the park itself. There are local boat operators that can take you directly to the park entrance. Prices can vary, but expect to pay around 50,000 Ariary per person for the boat ride. The journey by boat can take around 1 to 2 hours depending on weather conditions.
