Car
If you are traveling by car from the center of Antananarivo, head east on Avenue de l'Indépendance. Follow this road until you reach Route Nationale 1. Continue on RN1 for approximately 20 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Ambohimanga, and take the exit towards Rova, Ambohimanga. The site is located at the end of the road, with parking available nearby. Please note that parking may incur a small fee.
Public Transportation
To reach Rovan' Ambohimanga using public transportation, take a taxi-brousse (shared taxi) from the main taxi-brousse station in Antananarivo to Ambohimanga. The journey should take about 1 hour and costs roughly 2000-3000 Malagasy Ariary (approximately $0.50-$0.75). Once you arrive in Ambohimanga, you can either walk (about 1 kilometer) or hire a local taxi to take you directly to the Rova. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
Walking
If you are already in Ambohimanga, you can reach Rovan' Ambohimanga by walking. From the center of Ambohimanga, follow the main road heading towards the hills. The site is well signposted, and the walk is about 1 kilometer uphill. It may take approximately 15-20 minutes. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes as the path can be uneven.
