    If you are traveling by car from any location in Ihorombe, head towards the town of Ambalavao. The road from Ihorombe to Ambalavao is well-maintained and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach Ambalavao, follow the signs to Andringitra National Park. The entrance to the park is located about 30 kilometers from Ambalavao. Be prepared for a rougher road as you get closer to the park, and it is advisable to have a 4x4 vehicle for the last part of the journey.

    Public Transportation

    To reach Andringitra National Park via public transportation, take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from Ihorombe to Ambalavao. The journey typically takes around 2 hours. Once in Ambalavao, look for another taxi-brousse that heads toward the entrance of Andringitra National Park. This second leg may take an additional hour and costs around 10,000 Ar (approximately $2.50). Be aware that taxi-brousses may not run frequently, so it’s best to check the schedule in advance.
