Car
From the center of Ihorombe, head east on Route Nationale 7 (RN7) towards the town of Mandoto. This route is approximately 40 km and will take about 1 hour depending on traffic conditions. Once you reach Mandoto, look for signs directing you to Parc Madagasikarantsika. The park is located at the coordinates C936+HFX, which you can enter into your GPS for precise navigation. There may be a small parking fee upon arrival, so ensure you have some cash on hand.
Public Transportation
To reach Parc Madagasikarantsika using public transportation, you can take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from the main taxi-brousse station in Ihorombe to Mandoto. The fare is typically around 5,000 Ariary (approximately $1.50) and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arriving in Mandoto, you can either walk to the park if you feel adventurous or hire a local taxi for a small fee, which should not exceed 10,000 Ariary (around $3), to take you directly to Parc Madagasikarantsika.
Walking from Mandoto
If you find yourself in Mandoto and wish to walk to Parc Madagasikarantsika, it is approximately a 30-minute walk from the town center. Head northeast on the main road, following signs toward the park. It's advisable to ask locals for directions if you feel uncertain, as they will be familiar with the area.
