Public Transportation
To reach Réserve spéciale d’Ankarana via public transportation, take a taxi-brousse (shared taxi) from Ihorombe to Antananarivo. Ensure you confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at the nearest point to the reserve. Once you reach Antananarivo, transfer to another taxi-brousse heading towards Diego Suarez. You will likely need to stop at a larger town to find the next transport to the reserve area, so ask locals for the best route. The total cost for the taxi-brousse from Ihorombe to Antananarivo will typically be around 20,000 MGA, and the journey could take 7-10 hours due to stops and road conditions.
