If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the town of Antsirabe, which is about 40 km from Lake Itasy. Take the RN34 road heading northwest. Continue on RN34 until you reach the junction with the RN1 road. Turn left onto RN1 and drive towards the town of Soavina. As you near Soavina, follow the signs for Lake Itasy. The lake is located approximately 10 km from Soavina. Look for parking areas near the lake where you can safely leave your vehicle.

To reach Lake Itasy via public transportation, first make your way to the Antsirabe taxi-brousse station. Take a taxi-brousse to Soavina; the fare is typically around 5,000 to 10,000 MGA (Malagasy Ariary). The ride takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Soavina, you can either walk or hire a local taxi to take you the remaining 10 km to Lake Itasy. Expect to pay an additional 20,000 to 30,000 MGA for the taxi ride.
