Car
If you are traveling by car from Sava, head south on Route Nationale 5 (RN5) towards Sambava. After approximately 60 km, you will reach the town of Andapa. From Andapa, continue east on Route Nationale 6 (RN6) for about 30 km until you reach the town of Marojejy. There, you will find signs directing you to the Marojejy National Park entrance. Note that the roads can be bumpy, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.
Public Transportation
To reach Marojejy National Park using public transport, take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from Sava to Andapa. The journey takes around 2-3 hours and costs approximately 10,000-15,000 MGA (Malagasy Ariary). Upon arrival in Andapa, you will need to catch another taxi-brousse heading towards Marojejy. This leg of the journey is about 30 km and costs around 5,000 MGA. Once you arrive in Marojejy, follow the signs to the park entrance.
Hiking
After reaching the Marojejy town, if you are feeling adventurous, you can opt for a guided hike to the park entrance. Local guides can be hired for around 30,000 MGA. This hike will take about 2 hours, offering an immersive experience of the local flora and fauna along the way.
Park Entrance Fee
Be aware that there is an entrance fee to access Marojejy National Park, which is approximately 25,000 MGA per person. Make sure to bring cash, as card payments may not be accepted.
