From Sava, you will first need to head towards Antananarivo, which is approximately a 10-12 hour drive depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you arrive in Antananarivo, follow the signs towards the city center. Rovan' Ambohimanga is located about 21 km northeast of the city center. From the city, take Route Nationale 1 (RN1) and then follow signs to Ambohimanga. The entrance to the site is well-marked, and parking is available on-site.
Public Transportation
To reach Rovan' Ambohimanga using public transportation, start by taking a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from Sava to Antananarivo, which may cost around 30,000 Ariary. The journey will take approximately 12 hours. Once in Antananarivo, you can find taxi-brousse services heading towards Ambohimanga. The fare for this leg of the journey is around 5,000 Ariary, and it takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the Ambohimanga stop, and follow the signs to Rovan' Ambohimanga, which is a short walk from there.
