Start at the Toamasina city center, specifically at the Avenue de l'Indépendance. Head east towards Boulevard Ratsimilaho. Continue straight on Boulevard Ratsimilaho for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will pass several local shops and small eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for the ocean on your left as you approach Cocoss beach. Once you reach the intersection near VC28+CV3, you will see signs directing you towards the beach. Turn left and walk a short distance to reach Cocoss beach.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in the city center. Begin your ride on Avenue de l'Indépendance and head towards Boulevard Ratsimilaho. Cycle straight along Boulevard Ratsimilaho for about 1.5 kilometers. You will notice the beach as you get closer. When you reach VC28+CV3, turn left at the intersection, and you will find Cocoss beach at the end of this path.
Tuk-Tuk
Find a tuk-tuk at a designated taxi stand or wave one down in the city center. Tell the driver you want to go to Cocoss beach, located at VC28+CV3, Boulevard Ratsimilaho. The journey will take about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver should know the location, but you can also show them the address if needed. Once you arrive, the beach will be just a short walk away from where the tuk-tuk drops you off.
Public Transport (Bus)
Locate the nearest bus stop along Avenue de l'Indépendance. Board a bus heading towards Boulevard Ratsimilaho. Make sure to inform the conductor that you want to go to Cocoss beach. After approximately 20 minutes, request to be dropped off at VC28+CV3. From there, it will be a short walk down to the beach. Ensure you check bus schedules for return trips after your visit.
