Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from downtown Augusta, begin at the Augusta City Center located at 16 Cony Street. Head south on Cony Street towards Water Street. When you reach Water Street, turn left and continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Bridge Street. Turn right onto Bridge Street and follow it as it turns into the Topsham Bridge. After crossing the bridge, keep an eye out for signs directing you toward the Androscoggin Swinging Bridge, which will be on your left. The walk will take approximately 25-30 minutes.

• Public Transit

  From downtown Augusta, take the Kennebec Explorer bus service. Board the bus at the Augusta Civic Center stop. You will need to take the bus heading towards Brunswick. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Topsham Fair Mall stop. From there, walk north on Maine Street for about 10 minutes, and you will reach the Androscoggin Swinging Bridge. Follow the signs directing you to the bridge once you get closer.

• Biking

  If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Augusta. Start your journey at the Kennebec River Rail Trail, located near the downtown area. Head south on the trail, following it along the river. After approximately 2 miles, you will approach the bridge area. Follow the signs that lead to the Androscoggin Swinging Bridge. This route should take you around 15-20 minutes, depending on your biking speed.
