Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the Bangor Public Library, head south on Harlow Street for about 0.2 miles until you reach the intersection with Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and continue walking for about 0.5 miles. You will pass several shops and restaurants. When you reach the intersection with Exchange Street, look for the signs directing you to the Waterfront. Continue straight until you reach the Bangor Waterfront area. The World War II Memorial is located near the waterfront park, with a clear view of the Penobscot River.

• Public Transit

  If you're near the Bangor Mall, take the Concord Coach Lines bus heading toward the downtown area. Get off at the stop closest to the Bangor Public Library. From there, proceed as described in the walking directions: head south on Harlow Street, turn left onto Main Street, and continue to the Bangor Waterfront, where the World War II Memorial is located.

• Biking

  If you have a bike, start from the Bangor City Hall. Head east on State Street towards Main Street. Turn left on Main Street and bike down to the waterfront. This route is approximately 1 mile. Once you reach the waterfront area, you will find the World War II Memorial along the park.
