Getting There

Car
If you are already in Baxter State Park, navigate to the nearest park road leading you out towards Millinocket. Follow the signs for the Katahdin area. Once you reach the end of the park road, exit Baxter State Park and head south on Maine Route 11. Continue for about 12 miles until you reach the intersection with Maine Route 157. Turn left onto Route 157 and continue for approximately 5 miles until you reach Millinocket. From Millinocket, take a right turn onto Knife Edge Trail. The Appalachian Trail Northern Terminus is located at the end of this trail.
