To reach Matagamon Wilderness Campground from anywhere in Baxter State Park, start by exiting the park via the Togue Pond Gate (the main entrance). Follow the signs toward Millinocket and take the Northern Road (Route 11) south. Continue on Route 11 for approximately 24 miles. You will pass through the town of Patten as you approach your destination. The campground is located at 159 Rte 11, Patten, ME 04765, on your right. There is no entrance fee required at the campground, but be prepared for possible camping fees.
