Stage Island Monument: A Tribute to Maritime Heritage

Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the Biddeford City Hall located at 205 Main St, Biddeford, ME 04005. From the City Hall, head south on Main St toward Alfred St. Continue walking for about 0.4 miles until you reach the intersection with Water St. Turn left onto Water St and continue for about 0.3 miles. You will pass the Biddeford Pool area on your right. After walking along Water St, you will see the entrance to the Stage Island Monument area. Follow the signs towards the monument, which is accessible via a short walking path from the street.

  Rent a bike from a local rental shop in Biddeford. Start at the Biddeford City Hall and head south on Main St. Continue for about 0.4 miles until you reach Water St. Turn left onto Water St and bike along the shore for approximately 0.3 miles, enjoying the scenic views of the Biddeford Pool. Look for signage indicating the Stage Island Monument entrance, and bike along the designated path leading to the monument.

• Public Transportation

  Take the local bus service from Biddeford City Hall. Board the bus that heads towards Biddeford Pool. Notify the driver that you want to get off at the stop nearest to Water St. Once you disembark, walk along Water St for about 0.2 miles until you see the signs for the Stage Island Monument. Follow the path leading to the monument.
