If you are in the downtown area of Brunswick, head towards Maine Street and walk northeast towards the intersection with Pleasant Street. Continue straight on Pleasant Street until it merges into Mill Street. Follow Mill Street until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Cross Route 1 and continue walking towards the direction of the bus stop for the Greater Portland Metro bus service. Take the bus towards Portland, specifically the number 1 or 2 bus that heads to the Old Port area. After approximately 25 minutes, get off at the stop at the intersection of Commercial Street and Middle Street in Portland. From there, walk east towards the waterfront, then turn left onto Eastern Promenade. Continue walking along the promenade until you reach the Eastern Promenade Trail.
Bicycling
If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in Brunswick. Start by heading east on Maine Street, then take a left on Pleasant Street. Follow the same route as if you were walking, until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Cross Route 1 and continue straight until you reach the bike lane that leads into Portland. Follow the bike path along the waterfront until you reach Eastern Promenade. The bike ride should take about 20-30 minutes, depending on your speed.
Public Transit
To take public transit to Eastern Promenade, find the nearest Greater Portland Metro bus stop in Brunswick. Board the number 1 or 2 bus heading toward Portland. The ride will take approximately 25 minutes. Once you arrive in Portland, get off at the stop near the Old Port area. From there, you can either walk or rent a bike to continue to Eastern Promenade. If you choose to walk, head east towards the waterfront, then turn left onto Eastern Promenade. The trail is easily accessible from there.
