If you are driving from downtown Portland, take I-295 South. Continue on I-295 for about 3 miles and take exit 3 toward South Portland. Merge onto Broadway and continue straight for about 1 mile. Turn left onto Bunker Lane. Fort Preble will be on your right. Parking is available near the fort.

To reach Fort Preble using public transportation, you can take the Metro bus service from downtown Portland. Board the bus on Congress Street at the bus terminal and take the number 1 or 8 bus route toward South Portland. Ride for approximately 25 minutes and get off at the stop for Broadway near Bunker Lane. From there, it's a short walk (about 10 minutes) to the fort, heading down Bunker Lane.

If you are near the waterfront in South Portland, you can walk to Fort Preble. Head north along the waterfront walkway until you reach the intersection of Ocean Street and Bunker Lane. Turn left onto Bunker Lane and continue straight for about 1 mile. Fort Preble will be on your left.
