Walking
From the center of Brunswick, head southwest on Maine Street toward Pleasant Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1 and walk for approximately 1.5 miles, passing the Bowdoin College campus on your left. Continue straight, and you will eventually reach the pedestrian bridge that crosses over the Androscoggin River. Once you cross the bridge, follow the signs toward Portland. You will eventually arrive at the waterfront area where Maine State Pier is located.
Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start from the downtown area of Brunswick and take the Androscoggin River bike path heading south. Follow the path along the river, and it will lead you directly towards the pedestrian bridge. After crossing the bridge, continue to follow the bike-friendly routes toward Portland. Upon reaching the waterfront, look for signs directing you to Maine State Pier.
Public Transportation
To reach Maine State Pier using public transportation, walk to the nearest bus stop on Maine Street in downtown Brunswick. Take the Metro bus route heading to Portland (check the schedule for exact times). After approximately 30-40 minutes, disembark at the Portland Transportation Center. From the Transportation Center, walk east toward the waterfront for about 15 minutes until you reach the Maine State Pier.
