Turn left onto Franklin Street and walk until you reach the waterfront area. You will see signs directing you to the Maine State Pier, which will be straight ahead.

From South Portland, locate the nearest bus stop for the South Portland Public Transit system. Take the Route 21 bus towards Portland. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at Franklin Street and Commercial Street. Once you disembark, walk towards the waterfront, and follow the signs to the Maine State Pier, which is a short walk away.

If you're renting a bike, start at any bike rental location in South Portland. Head towards the Greenbelt Walkway which runs along the coastline. Follow the walkway towards the downtown Portland area, and when you reach the end of the walkway, follow the signs to the Maine State Pier. The pier will be directly accessible from the waterfront path.
