Getting There
Bus
From the center of Kennebunkport, walk to the nearest bus stop on Route 1, which is about a 10-minute walk. Board the 'YCCAC' bus heading towards Portland. The bus should arrive every hour. Stay on the bus until you reach the Falmouth stop, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you get off, Mackworth Island is a short walk from the bus stop. Head north on Route 1, then take a left onto Falmouth Road and follow the signs to Mackworth Island.
Bicycle
If you prefer to bike, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Kennebunkport. From the center of Kennebunkport, take the scenic route along Ocean Avenue towards Route 1. Once you reach Route 1, turn onto the bike lane heading north. Follow the road for about 5 miles until you see signs for Mackworth Island. There is a bike rack available at the entrance of the island.
Walking
For a beautiful walking route, start at Dock Square in Kennebunkport. Head down to the River Walk and follow it until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge and continue on the walking path along the coast, which will lead you to Route 1. Once you reach Route 1, turn left and walk north for about 5 miles until you see the signs for Mackworth Island. The walk will take you about 1.5 to 2 hours, and you'll enjoy stunning views along the way.

You can also take a taxi from Kennebunkport to Mackworth Island. Simply call a local taxi service or use a ride-sharing app to request a ride.
