From the center of Kennebunkport, head south on Maine Street towards Ocean Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Route 9 (also known as the Cape Porpoise Road). Turn left onto Route 9 and follow the road into Cape Porpoise. Once you reach Cape Porpoise, you can catch a local bus service to Portland. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance. After arriving in Portland, walk towards the waterfront area, following signs for the Maine State Pier.

If you have access to a bicycle, start from the Kennebunkport town center and ride south on Maine Street. Continue onto Ocean Avenue, which will lead you to Route 9. Take a right turn onto Route 9 and follow it towards Cape Porpoise. In Cape Porpoise, you will find a bus stop for local transit to Portland. After arriving in Portland, cycle towards the waterfront area, where you will find the Maine State Pier.
